i dont know where im going with this song
the whole process is getting repetitive
filthy words that are dressed to impressed
honestly i think i need a sedative

and here i am, i am stationed
guarding something that i cannot admit
that i am stuck, i am fastened to this mindset
and no one gives a shit
ive assured this destruction of my brain
my body, ill commit
to this toxic healing
a crown of thorns for which i am unfit

and i dont think i was ever special
they called me a gifted kid with a exceptionally large vocabulary
but i dont even know what half those words mean anymore
im just going through the motions
and everything i do now is sort of based around that omnipresent mediocrity
i mean just look at this song
four simple chords and one of the only two strumming patterns i know
i guess thats every kid now
same childhood dreams of being an astronaut or surgeon or president
reliving our burnout aspirations late into the night hoping we can reconcile somewhere
but for now we lie awake
staring at the ceiling
praying for better days
